Half-a-dozen alternative uses for folding tables

Posted by suneyegroup team On May - 26 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Many people find folding tables particularly useful because they are so much easier to store and transport than normal tables. Although most often seen at functions or large events, there is actually no limit to their use.

This article presents half-a-dozen alternative uses for folding tables; ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous.

1. Eating whilst sitting on the sofa

Gone are the days when people were forced to miss their favourite television show because their dinner was ready. The range of designs for personal folding tables means that television fans can easily enjoy their evening meal from the comfort of their sofa.

2. Playing card games

Folding tables are perfect for card games such as poker and allow gambling fans to host their poker nights wherever they want in the house.

3. Ironing

Folding tables make for a perfect makeshift ironing board for those stressful situations when an actual ironing board is out of action.

4. Building Forts

Young children love to build forts and folding tables make for the perfect in-home fort structure for children to host their secret club because they are light and portable. This saves them ruining your expensive dining room table and allows you to dictate what room their fort should be based in.

5. Playing Subbuteo

The size and portability of folding tables make for an impeccable Subbuteo playing surface. Duck-taping a Subbuteo pitch to a table which can be easily stored away after the final whistle is far easier than having iron it onto a dining room table every time you feel like playing the classic football game.

6. Informing Traffic

There are no reports of folding tables having ever been used for this purpose in the UK, but reports from Taiwan suggested that local traffic authorities were using folding tables as temporary traffic signs to indicate motorists of temporary bus lanes. They allegedly did this because folding tables are cheaper and easier to remove.

Some might say that folding tables have so many uses, that it is unlikely that they should ever need to be folded away.

Use your conservatory all year round

Posted by suneyegroup team On May - 26 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Many people only choose to use their conservatories during the summer, when the hot sunny beams come through the glass. However conservatories are such a big investment that Brits would be silly to only utilise them for three or four months of the year. There are a number of ways in which you can make the most of your extra living space all year round.

The first is to ensure you invest in only high-quality, comfortable conservatory furniture. This will mean you can count on the area being a comfy place to sit at any time of year. It’ll also mean you won’t be ashamed to invite guests in whether it’s February or August.

Secondly, think about insulating the conservatory; during the summer it will naturally be hot, but in the winter, it might get a little cold. This will almost certainly be offputting and stop you venturing in there during the chilly November weather. You can insulate a conservatory via various roofing systems, blinds or thick double glazing, so it’s worth researching all the options before making a definite choice.

Next, consider putting a television in the conservatory, just to provide more incentive to sit in there and relax. You may be hesitant to put a TV in, simply because there may be three or four in other areas of your house, but think of it as an extra set you’ll only watch occasionally. You could also put a stereo in there to pipe some music into the area.

Another great idea is to include underfloor heating. This will keep you toasty warm at any time of the year, and is very cost-effective to install. It means the floor is always warm, and that no ugly piping has to adorn the walls.

There are so many ways to make your conservatory a year-round room, you shouldn’t be asking why…you should be asking why not?!
